Salta is the gem of Northern Argentina for several reasons. In first place, part of its territory is the touristic circuit of the Calchaqui Valleys (road that it shares with Tucuman province). In second place, it is the land where folklore was born, and in third place, its capital city is one of the oldest, best preserved of Argentina. The capital city is famous for its colonial style that merges perfectly with Indian culture. We could keep enumerating its attributes forever, but then we would spoil all its surprises!
Salta is the land where the Torrontes wine is elaborated -a high quality white wine produced in one of the highest vineyards in the world.
Cardon National Park is located in Salta. This 640.000 hectare park is home to thousands of Cardon trees. Indian legends say that these trees are the ancient guardians of the Pachamama.
