Cordoba
Cordoba is the most important province as far as gaucho tradition goes. Horses, polo and nature can be found all around.
Cordoba province is located northeast of Buenos Aires city and because it is mostly in the center of the country is connected with many other provinces, so it has a strategic location for commerce and tourism. It has excellent airports, roads and bus transport.
A little history
Cordoba city is very interesting because in this city the past merges with the present in a harmonious way. The city’s history is related with Jesuits, in 1599 The Jesus Company settled in this town. They started building schools, convents and “estancias” and nowadays there are many architectural testimonies of their presence. In effect, several Jesuit settlements were included among the U.N.E.S.C.O cultural heritage.
As for horses
Cordoba’s views and scenery are spectacular. It has plenty of places to go horse riding, plenty of rivers and water streams to cross and plenty of mountains to explore. It has the loveliest panoramic views. Cordoba is a synonym of horse culture: horses are part of their tradition. As a matter of fact, the biggest rodeo of Argentina is celebrated in the town of Jesus Maria. This is a unique show, riders and folklore singers from all around the country come to participate in this famous “Jineteada” (rodeo).
Although many people come to Buenos Aires to enjoy and practice polo, Cordoba also has lots of polo to offer to its visitors. In the town of Washington is located Adolfo´s Cambiaso´s estancia. Here he spends part of the year and is where he breeds his polo horses. Here is where most of them start to train before starting to play in Cañuelas, where La Dolfina (Cambiaso´s polo club) is located. Washington is located in one of the most fertile areas of Argentina. That’s why it is so good for breeding polo horses. You can check our polo activities in Polo.
Last but not least, Cordoba is one of the top health destinations because it offers thermal water places and high level health & spa hotels.
