Location
The Lerma Valley can be found in the geographical center of the province. It covers the municipal sites of the Capital of Salta, San Lorenzo, Cerrillos, La Merced, La Caldera, Rosario de Lerma, Vaqueros and Campo Quijano. The flight from Buenos Aires to Salta is approximately 2 hours long. The province of Jujuy is just 1 and a half hours away so it’s possible to visit both provinces in just one trip.
Other activities for riders and non riders companions
Thanks to the proximity to the city of Salta, this 3 day ride gives the non riders companions multiple activities to do in the city. This is a place to walk: old houses with balconies and its flowers, old churches more than three centuries old, the colonial architecture of the whole place is admirable for everyone.
From the Legado Mitico Hotel you can walk to the Cathedral in just 10 minutes. This is an icon of the city and it’s worth going during the day and night. It has a Neo-Baroque colonial style and it was declared a national Historic Landmark in 1941.
Very near the Cathedral is the Alta Montaña Museum, also a must together with the Artisans Market and the Pasaje Cabildo, which is the best preserved in the country. It's also a nice picture during the day as in the night. It opens from Monday to Friday from 9 to 14 Hs and inside you can see Salta’s Historic Museum.
Salta is a lot of fun! During the night you can see the typical Folkloric Peñas with its dancing or visit the local restaurants in Balcarce Street where you can try the regional food or have a drink in one of the lovely bars. The Peña Balderrama is the most popular, it’s Salta’s most traditional folkloric show.
The non riders will be very entertained until the last night when they will meet the riders again in the city in the House of Jasmines farm.
