Polo Holidays in Cordoba
In the mountains of Cordoba you can find Stephanie and Raoul Fenestraz’s Estancia, a paradise for the horse lovers and polo players. Also, it’s a great opportunity to know one of the most beautiful places of Argentina. Polo can be found not only near Buenos Aires but also in other provinces. In this Estancia you can enjoy and do many other activities like horse riding, trekking and getting to know wonderful landscapes.
A little history
It’s a unique experience staying in this Estancia. The story of the Fenestraz’s family goes back many years in Europe when Raymonde and André got together to build luxury houses and chalets. One of the most important creations is the train station of Courchevel and the luxury hotel Palacio Sissi. Raoul, his son, and his wife continued the tradition in Argentina. Living in Cordoba, they built a great residence inspired by the Argentine Estancias from the beginning of the XXth century. Later, they decided to turn it into a hotel and started breeding polo horses and Aberdeen Angus. In fact, Raoul is a polo enthusiast and plays regularly in the Estancia. He has his own team and competes in regional and national tournaments.
About polo and horses
The Estancia has two first level polo fields. Guests can have polo and riding lessons and enjoy playing some chuckers in the afternoon.
The rooms, all different in style, are all great. Besides, the place has its own spa and heated pool. For the horse lovers, the place also allows long rides up the mountains, crossing streams and hills full of trees.

Other activities for riders and non riders companions
Córdoba is full of activities to do and the Estancia has a lot to offer for the non riders. They can do:
Bird watching: this province is a paradise for bird watchers! It’s said that the Estancia has a species for every hectare, being that it has 170 and there are 170 different species to discover. The Hummingbird is the most sought-after. The Estancia will provide the adequate elements to start the adventure.
Mountain Biking: the Estancia has trails and paths for bike lovers to go around investigating. Long rides are available! A good one is from the Estancia all the way to Ongamira locality (about 40 Km), or even to Santa Catalina de Ascochinga (40 Km also). Another attractive ride is around the Sierras de Cordoba, a 28 Km ride that will show you the typical local landscapes.
If you prefer a more stable activity, the Estancia offers great cooking lessons or you can enjoy some spa and pool time. There is also a gym for those who chose some body training.
As for the cities nearby, Jesus María is the highlight. It’s mostly known to be the place where every January the most popular folklore and tame festival is celebrated. Many people from the neighbouring countries come (Brazil, Uruguay and Chile). Here, the best riders compete in the rodeos. One of the most spectacular shows to to see is the “tropilla entablada” test. Each year, competitors train their “tropillas” (a group of 8 to 12 horses all with the same hair color that respond to a godmother mare, usually from a different color) for this try out. They start by introducing all of the “tropillas” to the public, and then each “tropillero” and the godmother mare separate themselves from the rest of the “tropilla entablada”, as they call it, and these are left all together, mixed with each other. The winner is the one that can get back together all his “tropilla” first. It’s a beautiful show to watch. The gauchos from the Estancia Colibri have been participating in this competition for several years.
