Horse Riding in Entre Rios
The owners
Diana Hunt and her son offer a unique farm experience in Entre Rios, Argentina. Since 2004 they have been working on having their own polo breed. To achieve this, they started with a herd of thoroughbred mares and mixed them with very good stallions such as Titan, Forty Editado and Power Inter. As a consequence, they bred high quality foals with lots of aptitudes for polo sport. Nowadays, most of their horses are registered in the AACCP (Polo Breeders Association) and they have obtained excellent results.
They decided it would be a good idea to share the experience with other polo and horse fans, so they opened the doors of their Estancia. By doing this, other people would learn about the breeding process and the training work before starting to play.
Other activities
Apart from horses, they also breed cows, mostly Hereford and Bradford. The place is a great opportunity for guests who want to enjoy a farm experience at a very nice and cozy house with the best views. It also offers a good oportunity to work with cows and learn about cattle, gauchos and horses. Depending on the time of the year, there are different tasks to attend.
About the Estancia
The landscape of the farm is typical of coastal geography: soft hills, wetlands (very good spots to do birdwatching), and rivers. Regarding local fauna there are many species to watch: rheas, hares, deers or “aguará guazú” (local fox).
The house of the estancia is original from 1.870. It has a colonial architecture, with thick walls and tall roofs. At the bottom of the house there is a big garden where the swimming pool is located and further away the stick and ball and polo field. A few meters away you can find the barn, corrals and saddle place.
